Hello - next week's theme is "harvest." Submit a link in the comments to whatever "harvest" evokes for you. Please submit by Wednesday! Thanks.
P.S. Stay tuned for lots of great content this week, including an interview with a woman who runs letterpress company and lots of pictures from High Voltage Ranch, where I was privileged enough to spend today!

This is from my friend Julie:
ReplyDeleteWhen you say harvest, all I can think about is a big, fat Thanksgiving dinner. See here: http://supplementalscience.files.wordpress.com/2007/11/thanksgiving-meal.jpg
Maybe it's because I won't be heading home for turkey this year. Will likely be fish and chips for me, which isn't harvest-y at all.
When I think of Harvest, I think of a few things. The beautiful reds, oranges and yellows of the trees. Warm, homemade apple pie. Pumpkin Patches and hay rides. All of these bring me back to my roots: being a kid in the fall in the Midwest.

I love that leaf picture! Fall is my favorite. "Harvest" makes me think about my friendly neighborhood farmer's market. In October I am always amazed at how high the piles get and how they have things I didn't know or forgot existed (like purple cauliflower)-- or thought didn't grow in fall (like cantaloupes and sweet peppers). Apples, apples, apples, and more apples.
